Empowering Tip: Celebrate those around you, every day

PLEASE JOIN ME in celebrating one person a day.  Tell someone how much they mean to you, even if it’s someone you hardly know, or even don’t know.  Thank people in person, thank them on social media, thank them everywhere.  If we all thank at least one person every day – what kind of change could we make in our lives … in the lives of those around us … in the world?

As most people have heard, Robin Williams passed away a few weeks ago.  Since then, everyone has been celebrating the life of this amazing actor & comedian.

That’s wonderful, but it’s really made me think – I personally haven’t heard about Robin Williams for years.  Have you?  Probably not.  But now that he’s gone, everyone is talking about him, his movies, his quotes …

Why didn’t we celebrate his life more when he was alive?  Why do we so often wait to revere someone until they are gone?  Wouldn’t it be better to celebrate people now, thank them every day, while we still have the chance?

One person I’d like to thank my best friend.  She is always there for me.  But now she’s moving; I don’t have that much more time with her, and I’ve never really told her just how much she means to me.

So can we start, right now, thanking someone every day?  Thank your parents, your teachers, your friends, a random person on the street who is so obviously happy and brings a smile to your face … let the people in your life know how much they mean to you, what they have done for you.

Do it today.  Don’t wait until they are gone.
