Empowering Tip: Pave your own future

Today’s quote is from another unknown author, but it’s really amazing! “You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.”

These chapters in our lives are like phases. One might be an age – like your teenage years; or maybe it’s time spent with a boyfriend or girlfriend; maybe it’s time spent looking a certain way; maybe personality changes. It can be anything that you want.

But sometimes you have to let go of things. You are constantly growing as a person, constantly getting over things, facing fears – you’re not the same person you were in the past chapter. If you keep clinging to that chapter, re-reading it and wishing you were still there, you can’t move forward.

When you’re re-reading the same chapter of your life, I would deem you lost. You’re lost in the past, and the past isn’t going to come back. You have to pave your own future, and you have to live in the present.

Yeah, it’s fun to look back in the past and remember; that’s great, but don’t get so stuck in it that you’re not moving forward with your life. You deserve the past, which you’ve already had; and the present, which is happening now – don’t miss out on that; and the future, so don’t let it be impacted by the lack of the present.

Just live life. I know it’s hard sometimes, but you can do it. Love every moment!
