This week’s quote, “The best way to make your dreams come to is to wake up,” is from Paul Valéry, a French poet and philosopher who lived in the late 1800s to early 1900s.
When you’re dreaming, you’re usually asleep. While your mind is out there living those dreams, your body is sleeping. You’re not really there … you’re not really living it. And sooner or later, you wake up.
What do you do? You say, “Oh, it was just a dream.” And we usually forget those dreams.
But the dreams you have in life – what you want to be, what you want to do – they should not be like the dreams you experience at night. Let your mind travel, to find what you want in life. Then bring it back to your body, and say, “OK, let’s do it!”
The mind is very powerful, but getting your mind and body to experience something together is much more powerful. And that’s what you want – to have all those feelings, to know it can happen, it’s not just in your mind.
You shouldn’t have to forget about your dreams, just because you didn’t go out and pursue them. Have those daydreams, figure out what you want. Then wake up and go do it – go achieve it. You can do anything you set your mind to. You just have to go and physically make it happen.
So wake up! Go out & achieve all the dreams you can right now. And start making other dreams happen. We all deserve it.
